New website just the ticket – www.stickytickets.com.au

Selling tickets to a giant screening of the World Cup was the impetus behind a new website that promises to take all the hassle out of promoting and selling tickets to events.

Sticky Tickets is the first events portal of its kind in Australia. Individuals and organisations can register their event for free. The company securely processes credit card payments and deposits the money, minus a small booking fee based on ticket prices, into the required bank account.

Web marketing company, Redback Solutions, managing director Matt Freedman, Sydney IT specialist Jay Gaibisso and Sydney businessman and café owner Danny Gruosso are behind the revolutionary, yet simple, event management system.

Mr Freedman said the idea for the company came when Mr Gaibisso, a keen soccer fan, booked out Sydney’s IMAX Theatre to watch the World Cup match between Brazil and Australia.

“Jay was selling tickets to cover costs but trying to issue receipts and keep track of who was coming proved difficult and time consuming,” Mr Freedman said.

“He thought there had to be a better, simpler, way,” he said.

Mr Freedman said for individuals or organisations trying to organise an event, Sticky Tickets means there is no need to set up expensive merchant facilities or a website with a payment system.

He said while the list of potential users was endless, the portal was ideal for small companies or charities, conference organisers, as well as business, community and sporting clubs.

“It is a bit like a Wotif.com for events.”

In addition to collecting monies and promoting the event, the portal also provides other event management benefits. The system provides a list of attendees and sends an E ticket(s) to each person who makes a booking.

The system allows for multiple ticket prices including early bird specials, member and non member pricing, as well as complementary tickets. People who pay offline can be manually added.

People holding free events can obtain all the benefits of using Sticky Tickets for free.

The first 200 events organisers to register become “Foundation Organisers” entitling them to an invitation to Sticky Tickets launch party as well as other prizes and exclusive promotions.
